| Bio:
Alan's PhD from Auckland University explored the impacts of
further formal study on the conceptions of learning of in-service
educators.
Alan has over 20 years’ experience in Language Education, and more than 10 years’ in Academic Development in Higher Education. Alan’s key research interests are in academic literacy and learning; students’ conceptions of learning; admissions testing; and diagnostic profiling of students’ literacies and numeracies. Alan has delivered papers at national and international conferences and has authored or co-authored more than 20 publications and technical reports in the fields of student learning and testing. He co-ordinates the AARP national Language and Science Test Development team, and participates in national and international testing and evaluation research projects. |

| Bio:
Robyn joined AARP in 2006. Her background is teaching and
lecturing at a Tertiary level, mostly to students who learn in their
second language. She has a B.Ed from UKZN. She worked on various access
programmes at UKZN and has expereience in TEFL using and scoring the TOEFL
tests. She is responsible for Test development and item writing. |

| Bio: Alvin has a MA in Research Psychology and is responsible for database management and research support for the project. Alvin’s current research interest is the assessment of the predictive validity of the AARP testing instruments. He is especially interested in the use of new and innovative approaches such as Survival Analysis. |
